Week 14 Web Comics
Week 14 Web Comics
I read Johnny
the Homicidal Maniac. Different then what I expect from the name, the art style
is actually pretty “cute” instead of realistic. In some pages, artist even
simply the character to stick figures with some simple facial expression. The simplification
of the anatomy gives more expression and more exaggeration to character
movement. Also, with limited details, audiences can focus more on the story and
dialogue. Maybe because it is web comic, which means it is almost produces by
just one individual, it gives artist a much broad choices of topics than
traditional comic industry. Also the content is more modern related, very expressive,
doesn’t care too much about the following the traditional story telling way. Artist
tells whatever and whenever he or she wants. I’m not sure of this kind of
comics are good for kids, but it is definitely fun for grownups to read.
